This course is for teenagers and adults who wish to learn about working with clay. No experience or particular knowledge is required. The purpose of the course is to understand the clay medium through different traditional hand crafting techniques, such as modeling, pinched pots, coil and slab building.
Demonstrations are made by the instructor at the beginning of each class and the students are able to gain knowledge from different books available in the class. The students will also learn the different methods used in decorating their pieces. Students will do the glazing of their pieces and the instructor will conduct the final firing after which the finished pieces are kept by the student.
Tools, firings, and glazes are included / students need to bring an apron.
